The National Veterans Creative Arts Festival is one of
four wide-ranging quality-of-life programs sponsored by
the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the only one of
the four that is open to all of our veterans in every medical
center. The other three, Wheelchair Games, Golden Age Games,
and Winter Sports Clinic, are necessarily limited by defined
disability.
The Creative Arts Festival reaches out to every veteran and allows each one the opportunity of participating in the visual and performing arts.
This participation provides recognition and reinforcement
to veterans in their rehabilitation and recovery twenty-four
hours of the day!
Seven days a week!
365 days a year!
The Department of Veterans Affairs provides support for
the Festival, but because it serves thousands of patients
nationwide, Festival personnel must raise additional money
for this constantly growing, vital therapy program.
Think of this - hospitalized veterans are encouraged to
sing . . .
and dance!
and act!
and paint!
and draw!
and create!
and imagine!
and dream!
and feel!
and rejoice!
All because of the Creative Arts Festival!
And they are given support and direction and positive encouragement
as they develop confidence through participation
and satisfaction through achievement.
The walls of the medical center no longer confine.
The spirit is free . . .
The Veterans Fund proudly supports
The National Veterans Creative Arts Festival!
And so should every American! See the Festival website:
